HBO Lands J.J. Abrams' New Sci-Fi Series DEMIMONDE
A couple weeks ago, we learned that J.J. Abrams was shopping around a new sci-fi series he was developing. Today we've learned that HBO has picked up the series, which will be called Demimonde.
The sci-fi drama centers around a family and it will take audiences to another world. The family consists of a mother who works as a scientist, her husband and their young daughter. They end up getting into a terrible car accident. "After the mother winds up in a coma, her daughter begins digging through her experiments in the basement and winds up transporting to another land amid a world's battle against a monstrous, oppressive force. Her father then follows her into this new world."
Abrams will write and executive produce the series and it will be his first TV writing gig since 2008's Fringe. This sounds like a great concept that is going to make for an awesome series and I'm excited to see what Abrams is cooking!
Abrams also created/co-created Felicity, Alias, and Lost. He's currently writing Star Wars: Episode IX for Lucasfilm, which he'll also direct. He's also producing a new Star Trek film that Quentin Tarantino is looking to direct.
Are you looking forward to this new series that Abrams is developing?
