HBO Max Has Snagged Streaming Rights to THE BIG BANG THEORY
The WarnerMedia streaming service, HBO Max, is coming up roses with its new acquisitions. It was recently reported that they were able to purchase the rights to the hit series Friends, and now they have another sitcom giant to their name with the streaming rights to The Big Bang Theory. These are both series that will bring in the big numbers, as fans like to watch and rewatch these favorites time and time again.
The Big Bang Theory will be available for five years under the deal and will be available at the launch of the streaming service in Spring of 2020. This is said to be the biggest purchase in TV streaming history, with an even bigger price tag than Friends or The Office.
That’s pretty crazy! I like the series and watched the whole thing all the way through, but have actually never found myself watching the reruns the way I do with Friends, The Office, or Seinfeld. I think it’s just because it’s a newer series, and I don’t miss it yet. Maybe in a few years. But it’s nice to know it will be available.
