HBO Max Producing New GARBAGE PAIL KIDS Animated Series with Danny McBride and David Gordon Green
For those of you who grew up in the ‘80s, I’m sure you all remember Garbage Pail Kids cards/stickers. Those hilariously gross cards also spawned a cartoon series and a live-action feature film. Well, we haven’t seen the last of this wonderfully disgusting franchise!
HBO Max is producing a new Garbage Pail Kids animated series with Danny McBride and David Gordon Green producing through their Rough House Pictures.
McBride, Green and Josh Bycel (Solar Opposites) will write the series, and it has yet to be determined if McBride will lend his voice to any of the characters. The series was inspired for their love of Garbage Pail Kids and Saturday morning cartoons.
It’s said that the animated series will be “family-friendly and appeal to audiences of all ages.” I used to collect Garbage Pail Kids cards when I was a kid. My parents didn’t approve, but damn they brought some joy and entertainment into my life. I just enjoyed that gross-out humor.
With the creative team behind this new series, it might actually turn out to be pretty good! I’ll be looking forward to seeing how it turns out! What do you all think about McBride and Green developing a Garbage Pail Kids series?
