HBO Releases New Featurette for the Stephen King Limited Series THE OUTSIDER
HBO has released the final featurette for its upcoming limited series The Outsider, based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King. The series was co-written with King and Richard Price, and is being directed by Andrew Bernstein (Ozark, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Charlotte Brandstrom (Madame Secretary, The Witcher), and Jason Bateman (Ozark, Arrested Development), who will also star.
Bateman is joined by Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline, Captain Marvel), Julianne Nicholson (August: Osage County, Masters of Sex), Marc Menchaca (Raising Dion, Ozark), John Gettier (Ozark, Bad Boys For Life), Cynthia Eviro (Bad Times at the El Royale, Harriet), Jeremy Bobb (Manhunt, Jessica Jones), and Yul Vazquez (Bloodline, I Am The Night).
Here’s the synopsis:
Based on Stephen King's best-selling novel of the same name, "The Outsider" begins by following an investigation which at first seems like it will be simple and straightforward but things change as it leads into the gruesome murder of a young boy by a seasoned cop. When an insidious supernatural force edges its way into the case, it leads the investigators to question everything they believe in. The character of Holly Gibney from "Mr. Mercedes" is a major character in this series.
This featurette includes discussion on the story from King and other members of the crew. This is the last bit of footage we will see before the premiere of the series this weekend. Check it out below, and let us know if you’ll be tuning in. The Outsider will premiere on HBO, January 12th.
