HBO's LOVECRAFT COUNTRY Comic-Con@Home Virtual Panel and a New Clip

Earlier this week, a new trailer was shared for HBO’s upcoming supernatural horror drama series Lovecraft Country. A lot of people are loving what they’ve been seeing from this series, it looks incredible! I love the mix of heavy drama and monstrous horror that the trailers have teased.

The Comic-Con@Home virtual panel has now been released for you to watch. The panel is being moderated by Sarah Rodman and she is joined by cast members Jurnee Smollett, Jonathan Majors, Michael Kenneth Williams, Aunjanue Ellis, Wunmi Mosaku, Abbey Lee, and Courtney B. Vance. Together they discuss the series, the characters, and what we can expect from the story. Also at the end of the panel, they share a clip from the series.

The series follows Atticus Freeman (Majors) as he joins up with his friend Letitia (Smollett-Bell) and his Uncle George (Vance) to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father (Williams). This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.

The show is based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff, and it’s being produced by J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele. Misha Green (Underground, Sons of Anarchy, Heroes) is the driving force behind the series as the executive producer and showrunner, and it looks like she’s created an awesome show!

Episodes of the series were directed by Yann Demange, Daniel Sackheim, and David Knoller. The series will be released on August 16th. The clip premieres at the very end of the pnal.

From showrunner and executive producer Misha Green, the new drama series Lovecraft Country follows the thrilling journeys of Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors...
