HBO's WATCHMEN is The Most-Watched Show on Cable in 2019
HBO’s Watchmen is an incredible series! It’s been interesting to see people’s reactions to it. There’s actually a lot of people out there who are wondering if people even watch the show. I’m surprised by how many people think the show isn’t gaining any traction with an audience because the audience is huge.
According to a recent report from Variety, the Damon Lindelof produced series is a big popular hit and is the most-watched show on cable in 2019! The series is drawing an average of 7.1 million viewers across HBO’s linear channels and streaming platforms. According to numbers, Watchmen is “premium cable’s most popular new series of 2019, and HBO’s most-watched new series since ‘Big Little Lies.’”
Of the seven episodes that have aired so far, Watchmen‘s seventh episode, “An Almost Religious Awe,” drew 779,000 viewers in Nielsen’s Live+Same Day ratings, the show’s highest numbers since its premiere, which drew 799,000 viewers. When counting all HBO platforms for the seventh episode, that number grew to 1.2 million viewers.
That’s pretty cool to learn. So, if you’re one of those people that wonders if people are actually watching the show… yes… yes, they are. This is an incredibly well-made series that tells an equally thought-provoking story as the original graphic novel that the show continues.
So, if you haven’t jumped in and started watching it yet, you totally should! And don’t take my word for it, take it from everyone else who is watching and enjoying the show.
While a second season has not been green-lit yet, with these numbers, I’m sure it will happen.
