HEARTHSTONE Unveils Big Changes Coming with This Year's Set Rotation
Hearthstone is possibly the biggest digital collectible card game. It’s been around since 2014 and continues to grow. That’s why Hearthstone recently announced two changes coming to the game.
First, the Basic and Core Set of cards are being replaced with Core Set. Core Set will be free for all players and contain 235 cards to serve as a starting platform and help Hearthstone become more new player friendly. Core Set cards include returning favorites, reimagined favorites, and 29 completely new cards. Players unlock cards by leveling up each class to level 10. Core Set will change every year, but stay constant during that year.
88 cards returning from Classic (54 class cards, 34 neutral cards)
54 cards returning from Basic (41 class cards, 13 neutral cards)
55 cards returning from Wild (36 class cards, 19 neutral cards)
4 cards returning from Ashes of Outland (4 Demon Hunter Class cards)
4 cards returning from Demon Hunter Initiate
1 card returning from Hall of Fame (Shadowform)
29 new cards (20 Class cards, 9 Neutral cards)
The other change is the introduction of a new format called Classic. This format is designed for people who want to go back to when Hearthstone was originally launched. You’ll have access to 240 cards as they were in 2014. Warsong Commander will give Charge, Leeroy Jenkins will cost 4 mana, and more. This new format also means that players will now have 27 deck slots instead of 18.
Both of these changes will happen with the set rotation with the launch of the next expansion.
