Trailer for Stephen Graham's HEEL Turns Rehabilitation into a Twisted Game of Control

Magnolia Pictures has released the trailer for Heel, and it looks like one of those movies that instantly makes you sit up and mutter, “What did I just watch?”

This twisted thriller takes a deeply unsettling premise and leans into it hard, delivering something that feels uncomfortable, strange, and intentionally confrontational.

Heel centers on Tommy, a 19-year-old criminal who lives for drugs, parties, and violence. After a night of chaos with his friends, he’s abducted and wakes up chained in the basement of a quiet suburban home.

The people responsible are Chris and Kathryn, a deeply dysfunctional couple who believe they can “fix” him through a disturbing, hands-on rehabilitation process.

Their goal is simple and horrifying. Break Tommy down and remake him into a “good boy.” Escaping becomes his only real option, no matter the cost.

Anson Boon plays Tommy, the so-called good boy at the center of the nightmare, and the trailer makes it clear he’s fully committed to the role’s physical and emotional extremes.

Stephen Graham is insane as Chris, the man who initiates Tommy’s captivity, while Andrea Riseborough portrays Kathryn with a chilling calm that only makes the situation worse. The cast also includes Kit Rakusen as the couple’s son Jonathan and Savannah Steyn in a supporting role.

The story has shades of A Clockwork Orange in its exploration of forced rehabilitation and moral control, but Heel takes a more intimate and claustrophobic route.

The trailer leans into relentless mind games, power shifts, and a creeping sense that everyone involved is broken in their own way. It’s pretty clear where this is heading, but the journey looks messy enough to keep things gripping.

The film comes from Oscar-nominated director Jan Komasa, whose past work includes Corpus Christi, The Hater, and Anniversary.

Originally titled Good Boy, the film made its debut at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival before landing with Magnolia for distribution. Magnolia Pictures will release Heel in select U.S. theaters starting March 6th, 2026.
