Henry Cavill Saved Co-Star From Drowning While Shooting THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE

Henry Cavill is a real-life hero as it’s been revealed that he saved one of his co-stars from drowning while filming Guy Ritchie’s World War II action movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Alex Pettyfer shared the story and praised Cavill for his quick thinking after he fell off of a boat. Pettyfer recalled the incident during an interview with Entertainment Tonight:

"He saved me from falling off a boat. I nearly drowned. So, I can officially say I've been saved by Henry. And I'm very grateful to be on this film with you."

The actor continued praising his co-star, saying:

"It was an amazing honor, by the way, to be on this film with you because it's a learning curve to see how a number one treats everyone in the cast and crew. I got an email two weeks before I started filming from this man saying, 'I'm excited to collaborate with you.'"

It seems like Cavill is a great actor to work with! He also talked about his experience making the film saying:

"I think it was an enjoyable experience and it's all thanks to these guys and Guy [Ritchie] and our crew. Because it creates that environment where you can have fun and it's easy to enjoy the day... I think that's why we all get to shine in an environment like this."

The movie is based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events and it "will chart UK PM Winston Churchill’s and James Bond scribe Ian Fleming’s secret WWII combat organization. The clandestine squad’s unconventional and entirely ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against the Nazis helped change the course of the war and in part gave birth to the modern Black Ops unit.”

The movie tells the story of “the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.”

Cavill plays the leader of the secret combat organization. González will play a military sniper with extraordinary spy-craft abilities, and there will be “a bevvy of colorful characters.” The movie is said to have echoes of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, and the hope is to build a big franchise out of it.

The movie will be released in theaters on April 19th.
