Henry Cavill Set To Star in Live-Action VOLTRON Movie
Henry Cavill is set to star in Amazon MGM’s feature film adaptation of the classic animated series Voltron! There’s no word on who he will be playing, but it’s cool to learn that he’s joined the project.
The movie is being directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Red Notice, Sky Scraper, and Central Intelligence) from a script he wrote with Ellen Shanman. CavilL joins the previously cast Daniel Quinn-Toye.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe follows five young pilots in a battalion named the Robot Lions, which are vehicles that join together to form a mega robot known as Voltron.
Together they fight against Emperor Zarkon, the cruel leader of the Galra Empire, who for over 10,000 years has been searching the universe for the Voltron lions.
Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman are producing with Bob Koplar, the head of World Events Productions, the company that controls the Voltron property.
Cavill is currently training for the lead role in Chad Stahelski’s reimagining of Highlander.
