Here are 6 Scripts for Unmade POWER RANGERS Episodes

Power Rangers is just one of those franchises that has a ton of material that never saw the light of day. Normally, fans only hear rumors about these lost stories, but thanks to the magic of the Internet, Den of Geek found 6 full scripts for episodes that were written, but never made. Some of these are crazy, so buckle up for a bumpy ride!

Yo, Ho, Ho, and a Bottle of…Rangers?” – Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S2

This is an episode that was written while the cast and crew were in Australia filming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. Production on The Movie was taking longer than expected and so they decided to write and film a couple of episodes while they were down under. “Yo, Ho, Ho” was one of these episodes, but unfortunately, production got rained out and they didn’t have enough time to try again.

This episode would’ve featured the Rangers and their classmates on a ship in Australia on a field trip. While Billy and Adam are below deck, everyone else is put under one of Rita Repulsa’s spells and they’re all asleep. Billy then finds a way to use the communicators and morphers to awaken the other Rangers (involving Adam yelling “Mastodon” multiple times without morphing), so that they can go defeat Goldar and an unnamed monster who are attacking Angel Grove. Of course, they win and go back to their pirate ship and wake everyone else up. There’s a putty fight on the boat as well, but I kind of like the idea of the monster fight being done on the boat/at sea. Of course, I know why they couldn’t do that, but it would’ve been fun.

Party Crasher” – MMPR S2

This one will sound like any teen movie. Aisha’s parents leave and let Aisha throw a small party with the other Rangers. Bulk and Skull find out about this and decide that they’re going to invite the rest of the school. The one catch is that Aisha’s parents have one rule: Don’t break Aisha’s mother’s antique vase. Well, naturally Lord Zedd turns the vase into the monster Party Crasher and Adam, Billy, Kimberly, and Rocky are all trapped inside leaving Aisha and Tommy to deal with it. However, things get tricky as they don’t want to shatter the vase in the process. The Rangers eventually defeat Party Crasher and return the vase to Aisha’s home and clean up the giant mess left by the partiers before Aisha’s parents get home. Of course, then Aisha’s dad ends up breaking the vase making everyone scared so hard the show freezes and goes to credits.

This one just sounds dorky to me personally, but I’m sure as a kid I would’ve loved it. The reason for this episode not being made was because of MMPR: The Movie taking months longer than they expected which messed with the production schedule and for some reason this episode just never happened.

“Zordon I Shrunk the Rangers Parts 1 & 2” – MMPR S2

Aisha and Billy build a ray to enlarge food and feed more people. Rita and Zedd plan on flipping the reverse switch and shrinking the Rangers. Well, over the course of the episodes (it was actually a 3-parter but there’s no found script for Part 3 yet) Aisha, Billy, and Rocky get shrunk and the others have to fight the bad guys. Here are the best parts though. The tiny Rangers are able to escape the mighty foot of Goldar by riding a skateboard. Then, that same skateboard is used by Tommy in a fight against Nimrod, AC, and DC (from “White Light Parts 1 & 2”). In addition to these moments, we find out that Goldar and Scorpina were supposedly going on a date and there’s at least one self-aware joke:

This actually sounds like it could’ve been really fun and something that stuck out to fans. However, due to MMPR: The Movie taking longer than expected and how expensive the effects and green screen would’ve been, this story was eventually left behind.

Rangers in Concert” – Power Rangers Turbo

The first non-MMPR episode to make the list! If you read the script, it’s important to note that some character names will be different. Script Missy is actually Ashley, script Ashley is Lt. Stone’s niece Jenny, and script Michael is TJ.

Apparently, Tanya worked for a radio station (I don’t remember this being part of the show, but it could just be my faulty memory) and she’s giving away tickets to see The Roaches in concert. Well, everyone wants these tickets. Missy (Ashley) had won some tickets and then Ashley (Jenny) mentions to Tommy that he could also get tickets at a sing-a-long night that Lt. Stone is putting together. This leads to Tommy making a joke about how he can’t sing in reference to the gold that is “Another Song and Dance” from Power Rangers Zeo.

Eventually, the Rangers (present and future because this is before Carlos, TJ, and Ashley become Rangers) get tickets because it turns out this is all part of a vile scheme by Divatox. One of the key points of this episode is that the message from “The Millennium Message” that the Blue Senturion had was finally revealed in full and it was going to show the faces of the future Rangers which would’ve explained the transfer of power later in the season.

This episode was scrapped after Doug Sloan and Ann Austen left and a new writing team came in. This led to previous plotlines being built were left where they stood in favor of new arcs. While I didn’t notice this as a kid, now that I know about the loss of the continuation of what could’ve been a great story makes me sad.

Forging a Friendship” – Power Rangers Lost Galaxy

I’ll be honest, I don’t remember Lost Galaxy super well. I remember watching it and not caring for it as a kid. However, I do remember that Kendrix was the Pink Ranger and she left and was replaced by Karone, Andros’ sister/Astronoma. Well, it turns out that Cassie almost replaced Kendrix instead, but Patricia Ja Lee who played Cassie, quit before it happened. This left the writing team scrambling and led to Karone being picked and I think it was a fine decision. After all, Cassie was already a Ranger and Karone was just kind of there. This also led to an episode that many fans love, “Facing the Past.”

The story itself is fun. Cassie joins GSA as a cadet and Kai is in charge of showing her around. When Cassie tries being friends with Maya, Maya is really cold to her since she lost her best friend, Kendrix, and just isn’t ready to open herself up yet. Well, eventually we get to a point where Trakeena and some other evildoers steal the Megaship, but not without Cassie and Maya being on board. This leads to a bit of a stealth mission as the two girls defeat some Stingwingers and sneak around to regain control of the ship. Normal Ranger stuff happens, and the Rangers morph and defeat Buzz and Cassie and Maya are now friends.

I hope more of these scripts surface as they’re pretty fun to see what almost happened.
