Here Are Four Actors Up For the Role of Elvis Presley in Director Baz Luhrmann’s Biopic
Director Baz Luhrmann is currently developing an untitled Elvis Presley biopic with Tom Hanks taking on the role of Elvis’ iconic manager Colonel Tom Parker. The filmmaker is now in the process of trying to cast the perfect actor in the role of Elvis.
According to Deadline, there are four actors that are in contention for the lead role, and those actors include Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver), Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick), Austin Butler (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and Harry Styles (Dunkirk).
Apparently all of the actors have the singing chops to take on the role, none of them really bare much resemblance to the King of Rock and Roll. Out of all of the actors mentioned above, Teller might have the closest look to Elvis.
The story for the film covers the “relationship between the veteran manager and the young singer, who came from dirt-poor origins to become an iconic star who changed the course of music. Parker was reputed to have taken half of Presley’s earnings for himself, in exchange for building him.”
Parker is the guy who discovered Presley when he was just an unknown musician. He ended up being his lone representation and was responsible for various milestones, including Presley’s record deal with RCA and his successful acting career.
Which of these four actors do you think should take on the role of Elvis Presley?
