Here Are More Indie Highlights from E3 2021
E3 is a big time for video game companies to show off what they have to offer. A lot of the attention gets focused on the big names like Nintendo, Bethesda, Ubisoft, and Xbox, but they’re not the only ones. Several indie developers have things to show off too, and I wanted to highlight some of the indie games shown off at E3 2021. I’ve included individual trailers and even some full presentations below. Let us know if there are any other games that you think we should’ve featured.
First, we’ve got Metal Mind from Whirllaxy Studio and Yooreka Studio. This roguelite game features transforming mecha to provide unique elements to enjoy. It also has some really cool 16-bit graphics. You can download a demo for the game now on Steam with the full release slated for Q1 2022. Next we have the Cyberpunk roguelite and 3D platformer Loopmancer releasing Q4 2021 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. This looks pretty cool and is developed by eBrain Studio and published by Yooreka.
Meanwhile, Hooded Horse showed off three new games including the sci-fi RTS Falling Frontier from Stutter Fox Studios which won the award for Most Anticipated Indie Game at E3! I also think Terra Invicta from Pavonis Interactive and Hooded Horse looks like an intriguing game.
Lemnis Gate was shown off by Frontier. The game is developed by Ratloop Games and is a turn-based combat strategy FPS that has time loop abilities. It sounds crazy and looks great. You can play Lemnis Gate on August 3 with a PC open beta taking place in July.
I’m not sure if the next entry counts as an indie title, but I wanted to include Naraka: Bladepoint. The game comes from 24 Entertainment and NetEase Games and takes battle royale games to the next level. You’ll be able to perform awesome parkour, engage in melee combat, or even snipe opponents. The game looks like a lot of fun and will launch on Steam and Epic Games Store on August 12. An open beta is taking place now through June 22.
Finally, United Label and Fallen Flag Studio showed off their souls-like boss rush game Eldest Souls. The game looks great if you’re into really challenging gameplay. The game will launch on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on July 29.
