Here are The First Photos From THE X-FILES Season 11 and Things Don't Look Good For Scully
Fox has released the first two photos from Chris Carter's The X-Files Season 11. The first photo looks like it's from a moment in one of the episodes that is set in the 1950s and it features three individuals in a room with an alien. The second photo shows Mulder (David Duchovny) sitting by Scully (Gillian Anderson) in a hospital bed. Things obviously aren't looking too good for her.
The photos come from EW, and Carter also offers some new information regarding the upcoming 10-episode season. One thing that he says is that that Mulder and Scully’s son William “will come to the fore” and that fans who are hoping to see them fix their relationship “have something to look forward to.”
The report goes on to offer us some insight into what we can expect from a few of the episodes in Season 11, revealing:
With more monster-of-the-week episodes this season (eight, in all), fans can expect season 11 to be united in theme but varied in tone. After episode one delves into the Cigarette Smoking Man’s (William B. Davis) backstory and apparent family ties to Mulder, the second hour opens with a time jump to put distance between Mulder and Scully and the events of the premiere. And episode three is a darkly comedic hour, penned by Carter, focusing on doubles and doppelgängers. But beyond the humor, the larger mythology of The X-Files — like the fallout from Scully’s abduction and the chip that was implanted in her neck — continues to shape Mulder and Scully’s world.
Carter also goes on to say that we’ll get a "new angle" on Mulder and Scully’s long-suffering FBI boss, Assistant Director Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) and adds that, “Familiar alliances are rattled”.
Sounds like fans are in store for a great new season of the X-Files! I Can't wait!
The upcoming season also stars William B. Davis as the Cigarette Smoking Man; Annabeth Gish as Agent Reyes; Karin Konoval who also appeared as Mrs. Peacock in the episode “Home” from the original series run; Barbara Hershey joins the series as a character named Erika Price, described as “a powerful figure who represents a mysterious organization.”
The series is scheduled to return in 2018.
