Here are the Renegade Con Updates for the POWER RANGERS Tabletop Games

Over the weekend, Renegade Game Studios held a virtual Renegade Con and that meant some big news for your favorite games from them. I’m going to focus here on some of the news regarding their Power Rangers titles. You can watch the Power Rangers Tabletop panel below if you want all the details, but I’ve written the highlights down below.

We’re going to start with the Power Rangers Deck-Building Game which is getting a new expansion called S.P.D. To The Rescue. As you might assume, this brings in the popular season Power Rangers S.P.D. and will bring with it 11 characters with their signature items, 5 Masters, 6 Zords, and more. There’s also a new mechanic for Containment which is modeled after the show when the Rangers would arrest the monsters at the end of the fights. Also, there will be stackable cards and the A-Squad Rangers will be a unique type of Villain. S.P.D. To The Rescue is not a standalone expansion, so you will need either the Core Set or Zeo - Stronger Than Before in order to play. Pre-orders are now live for $30 from Renegade and you’ll get the Bonus Pack #4 with 12 foil character cards from the expansion.

S.P.D. Emergency!

This expansion has everything you need to join or oppose the galactic police force of the future! The leader of the Troobian Empire, Emperor Gruumm, is threatening to make Earth his next conquest, using the former A-Squad Rangers of Space Patrol Delta to carry out his nefarious plans. The B-Squad Rangers, led by Commander "Doggie" Cruger, are Earth's last line of defense.

In the world of Power Rangers Heroes of the Grid, the team showed off the new character packs Shadow of Venjix and Ranger Allies Pack #3 which are both available to pre-order for $45 each. They also went over the pre-order bonuses you can get if you pre-order both. First, you can get the Scenario Book 2 which has the regularly released scenarios for the game in a physical form. Second, you’ll get Zord Pack #3 which has the Super Zeo Zords, Warrior Wheel, and Zeo Mega Battlezord. I love these Zords from the show and so this is very exciting to me.

Finally, there was news for fans of the Power Rangers Roleplaying Game. First, there’s a Standee Pack #1 that you can pre-order for $50 now. This pack includes 191 full color standees for heroes, villains, and Zords plus 28 bases of varying sizes although they are designed for a 1” grid system. The standees include everything you need for the adventures already released, A Fool’s Errand in the Core Rulebook, A Glutton for Punishment, and Adventures in Angel Grove. Overall, I think this is fantastic. I always struggle with them including Rangers because the game is meant to allow for custom characters and you don’t want your players to feel self-limited because they want to match their standee. I understand why they do it, it’s convenient and at the end of the day, having a standee/mini is better than nothing. I wish they would offer some sort of custom service or partnership with Dwarven Forge or Hero Forge or one of those companies where you could design your custom Rangers and get them in mini/standee form.

In addition, we got some more information about the new sourcebook releasing this year. It’s titled Across the Stars and is available to pre-order for $55 with an expected release of June 2023. Each pre-order will include a free PDF which will probably be released a little early. In Across the Stars, you’ll find new rules for things like calling allies, space combat, new Roles including Gold, Silver, and Phantom Ranger, and more. This is sure to be a hit among fans and I’m excited. When I first tried the Power Rangers RPG, I felt like it had too many flaws with how it was written, but I have been interested in giving it another go with the FAQ 1.2 to hopefully clear up old questions.

Fantastic Worlds and Terrifying Foes Threaten the Grid!

Across the Stars gives your Power Rangers Roleplaying Game stories all players and GMs need for space travel and to face-off against foes from the Machine Empire, Truubian Empire, Pirate Queen Divatox's marauders, and the forces of the United Alliance of Evil! With a whole universe to protect, Rangers can expect to foil the schemes of classic villains like Astronema, General Automon, Scorpius, and even Dark Specter himself. Enemies won’t wait, either, with new bounty hunters like Darkonda and Dayne, and the fearsome Psycho Rangers seeking to stop the forces of good!

Finally, it was mentioned that on March 1, there will be more discussion about things including details for another sourcebook, Finster’s Monster-Matic Cookbook.
