Here Is Google Play's Casual Fan Guide for Zack Snyder's JUSTICE LEAGUE

DC fans have been talking non-stop about the Snyder Cut of Justice League for years, and they finally got it and they still won’t stop talking about it. If you’re more of a casual fan, you may not recognize some of the characters in the film, and Google Play has put together a list of movies and comics that are designed for more casual fans to check out to learn more about some of the characters.

Now, these items don’t tie in with Justice League, but they’re meant to help kickstart deeper dives into these characters. I would also recommend checking out the animated series Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Teen Titans for more amazing DC work that covers most, if not all, of these characters.

• The Bad Guys

  • Darkseid - Justice League Dark: Apokolips War (animated movie)

    • The Justice League has always been Earth’s first and last defense, but with the imminent arrival of Darkseid even the world’s most powerful Super Heroes, including new member John Constantine, may not be able to make a difference against Darkseid’s legions.

  • Steppenwolf & DeSaad - New Gods by Jack Kirby: Issues 1-11 (comics)

    • Steppenwolf (the uncle of Darkseid) and DeSaad (follower of Darkseid) make their debut in issue 6 as Darkseid continues to wage his war with the new gods and their leader, Orion (Darkseid’s son).

  • Granny Goodness - DCU: Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (animated movie)

    • Watch as Granny Goodness, Darkseid’s lieutenant and trainer of the “furies,” tries to capture and brainwash Supergirl to make her a warrior of Apokolips.

  • Deathstroke - Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons (animated movie)

    • Immerse yourself in Deathstroke’s origin story as he tries to balance his two lives as mercenary and master assassin and what happens when these two worlds collide as a result of H.I.V.E. capturing his son.

• The Good Guys

  • Cyborg - Cyborg Vol. 1: Imitation of Life: Volume 1, Issues 1-6 (comics)

    • When a shocking discovery about his own origin makes Victor Stone question everything he thought he knew about his identity and his humanity, it seems Cyborg might be more machine than man after all.

  • The Atom (Captain Atom) - Legends of Tomorrow: The Atom (comics)

    • The story begins as the Manhunter tells Superman about the end of Mars's civilization and how he came to Earth. In his guise as Detective John Jones, he tracks a serial killer and investigates a mystery at Cadmus Laboratories.
