Here's a Cool Behind-The-Scenes Featurette For Peter Jackson's MORTAL ENGINES

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty pumped up about Peter Jackson's upcoming film Mortal Engines. It looks like such an awesomely adventurous film that is so crazy unique and visually stunning.

We've got a behind-the-scenes featurette for the film for you to watch today that dives into the creation of an imaginative world that we've never seen before. It also offers additional details on the characters and story. When I watch stuff like this, it just reinvigorates my love for the filmmaking process.

The film comes from director Christian Rivers from a script co-written by Jackson and Philippa Boyens. The movie is based on the British series of novels by Philip Reeve and this is the synopsis:

Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.

The cast for the film includes Hugo Weaving (The Lord of Rings), Hera Hilmar (Da Vinci’s Demons), Robbie Sheehan (Geostorm), South Korean singer and actress Jihae (Mars), Ronan Raftery (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Leila George (Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?), Patrick Malahide (Game of Thrones) and Stephen Lang (Avatar).

Mortal Engines will hit theaters on December 14th.
