While I was disappointed to learn this video was faked, I do appreciate a good send off to the explosive technology of 2016. I'm guessing The Verge didn't want to do this for real in fear that they would actually blow up a building! I guess the upside is seeing this will probably lead some idiot to try it (hopefully in a safe location), and we will get to see all the toxic and colorful exploding goodness!

Check out the fire (WHICH, AGAIN, IS FAKE) below. ALSO for the person who doesn't click on the link and comments a long rant on Facebook about how they aren't technically hoverboards, call them a banana head and offer no explanation as to why.
