Here's Another Silly Trailer for Rob Zombie's THE MUNSTERS
I honestly don’t know what Rob Zombie is doing with his film adaptation of The Munsters. He claims to be a fan of the original series and this movie was going to honor that, but to me… it looks like a complete mess. There was a time when I was actually excited to see this movie because I’m a big fan of the original series and grew up watching reruns with my mom. But, this movie does not feel like The Munsters, and I’m kind of shocked by how cheap the production value is.
Well, we’ve got another silly trailer for The Munsters for you to watch today, and it offers up some new footage. The movie is coming to Netflix in the fall, but USA Today has revealed that before being released on Netflix, the movie will be released on Blu-ray DVD, and VOD platforms on September 27, 2022. This trailer is for that release.
When talking about the film recently, Zombie said: “The movie is layered and weird, but it’s bizarrely innocent. I feel like it’s the perfect Halloween movie.” He goes on to liken the film to a “live-action cartoon.”
The synopsis for the film reads: “The strangest love story ever told: Herman and Lily’s crazy courtship takes The Munsters on a hauntingly hilarious trip from Transylvania to Hollywood in the all-new feature length film.”
The cast includes Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, and Dan Roebuck as Grandpa Munster, along with Doctor Who and Hobbit actor Sylvester McCoy, who is playing Igor, "the faithful servant of the family", Dee Wallace, Elvira actress Cassandra Peterson as a real estate agent, Tomas Boykin as Lily Munster’s werewolf brother, Lester, and Uncle Gilbert is also in the movie.
