Here's Our First Look at GRRL SCOUTS: STONE GHOST #1 from Superstar Cartoonist Jim Mahfood
Jim Mahfood is returning to his Grrl Scouts universe this November with the launch of a new miniseries called Stone Ghost. Image Comics will publish the six-issue miniseries that features a very interesting art style. It very much reminds me of old cartoon comics (makes since with Mahfood being a cartoonist) and it’s a really cool break from most other comics I’ve seen lately. We’ve got a brief preview below and it looks like a lot of fun even if the lettering is not my favorite thing.
Join Dio, Turtleneck Jones, and Gordi as they face off against the sinister and unpredictable evil of The Teeth! Hilarious, over-the-top, psychedelic adventure will ensue, you guys!
Talking about bringing this new chapter to fans, Mahfood said:
I'm extremely excited about this new Grrl Scouts series and I think fans and new readers alike will be very entertained and definitely get a lot of bang for their buck with this one. I'm introducing an entire new cast of characters, expanding on the mythology of the Grrl Scouts, and handling every aspect of the production of the book: writing, drawing, coloring, and lettering, to make this a very unique experience! This series is for fans and collectors alike who are looking for something different and off-beat when they're staring at that wall of new releases in the comic shop.
Fans can read Grrl Scouts: Stone Ghost #1 on November 24 with a main cover by Mahfood or a 1:25 incentive cover by Peach Momoko.
