Here's Our First Monstrous Look at Zachary Quinto in AMC's New Horror Series NOS4A2
AMC has offered a first look at their upcoming series adaptation of Joe Hill’s horror novel NOS4A2, which offers fans a whole new take on vampires.
The photo gives us our first creepy look at Zachary Quinto as the ancient, supernaturally powered Charlie Manx, “who periodically rejuvenates by feeding on the life forces of children as he transports them to a fantasy world he has created called Christmasland.”
When talking to EW about the series, Quinto said, “In the journey they become these ghoulish creatures, and Charlie Manx is fed with vitality and youth.”
Quinto is joined by Ashleigh Cummings in the series. She plays the heroine, named Vic McQueen, who is about to enter her senior year at a high school in Massachusetts. When talking about this character, showrunner Jami O’Brien said:
“She’s a working-class kid who has such a creative mind that it actually gives her a kind of superpower. Charlie Manx becomes aware of her and realizes that she may be bad news for him, so he has to figure out pretty quickly what to do about her.”
It was also explained that the 1938 Rolls-Royce Wraith that Manx drives around has a special relationship with him and O’Brien says, “I would describe them as partners in crime.” He is also hoping to expend the universe as the series goes on.
“There’s no limit to the number of folks that we could meet that have interesting powers and interesting landscapes that they inhabit.”
The 10 one-hour episodes are slated to premiere in 2019.
