It's strange to think that before this year's Oscar nominations were released, there was serious talk that Deadpool — a breakout hit and wild success from 2016 — might actually score a Best Picture nomination. That didn't end up happening, but I'm guessing the people involved couldn't give less of a crap about that: they were laughing all the way to the bank regardless of any awards that came their way.
