Hideo Kojima Says FURIOSA Co-Star Is Perfect for METAL GEAR SOLID Movie - "I could only see him as Snake"

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is a big fan of director George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and he believes that one of the film’s co-stars is the perfect actor to take on the role of Solid Snake in a live-action movie.

Kojima has praised the film's two leads calling Anya Taylor Joy and Chris Hemsworth saying the are "great," but what he found "even more blinding this time" were two supporting characters… Mary, Furiosa's mother played by Charlee Fraser, and Jack, Furiosa's mentor played by Tom Burke.

He explained: "These two new characters are too cool! The actors who played them are sure to be a breakout hit.”

Kojima then talked about Burke, specifically saying: "I could only see him as Snake. When I met Tom at a party, I asked him about it and he told me that he was told that he looked like Snake by the crew on the first day of shooting."

Burke definitely does look like he could take on the role of Snake! He looks the part, and he’s definitely got the acting chops for the role.

A Metal Gear Solid film has been in development with Oscar Isaac set to take on the role of Snake, and director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has been developing that film adaptation for years.

The last thing we heard was the creative team was still "searching" for the right story, and compared that search to "climbing through air ducts" like Solid Snake.

Isaac previously said: "We want it to happen. Be excited. What's the script? What's the story? What's the take? [...] But hopeful that comes to fruition because there's so much potential for that. It's an incredible game. It's my favorite."

The story for the original game follows Snake, a soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to neutralize the terrorist threat from Foxhound, which is a renegade special forces unit.

When previously talking about the adaptation, the director said that he is shooting for an R-rating. He wants to bring the full-on insanity of the game to the film: "It’s about doing it for a price so you can make the riskier, balls-to-the-wall, Kojima-san version of it."

The director also talked about a script that was written for the movie by Derek Connolly, saying he loves what he has: “Even if I wasn’t involved in this movie I would read that script and say, ‘Holy shit.' It represents a different approach to a video game movie. It represents a different approach to how a three-act structure is put on screen.”

While I like Isaac in the role of Snake, I would be open to Tom Burke playing him as well. He’d also be awesome in the role! What do you think?
