HIGHLANDER First Look Photos Reveal Henry Cavill as Connor MacLeod

We finally have our first look at Henry Cavill in the Highlander reboot, and his take on Connor MacLeod is rough around the edges, sweaty, and rocking a leather coat. These images are promising sign for a film that lots of fans are excited about.

Cavill shared the image himself, marking a personal milestone after a long road to get this project moving. He wrote, “This has been quite the journey for me, which I'll tell you all about when the time is right, but it's a special moment to be able to share this. I hope you enjoy.”

The film itself has been a slow burn. Production delays pushed filming back to 2026, making this reveal even more satisfying for fans who have been tracking every scrap of news. Cavill isn’t going into this alone either.

He’s reuniting with his Man of Steel co-star Russell Crowe, while Crowe also reconnects with Djimon Hounsou, his Gladiator co-star.

Then there’s Dave Bautista who is stepping in as the villainous Kurgan, and WWE star Drew McIntyre is set to play Connor’s brother, Angus MacLeod.

Chad Stahelski, best known for shaping the action-heavy world of John Wick, directing the film. Stahelski has already hinted that this won’t be a straightforward remake.

“We're bringing it forward from the early 1500s in the Highlands to the beyond present-day New York and Hong Kong, and seeing how it goes,” he explained. “There's big opportunity for action.

“There's a chance to play a character that not a lot of people get to play. And it's a bit of a love story, but not how you think. On John Wick, I learned a lot on how to bend the storytelling a little.”

That approach sounds tailor-made for Highlander. A sweeping timeline, immortal warriors, and stylish action all feel like natural extensions of Stahelski’s strengths. Add Cavill in a visibly worn, lived-in version of Connor MacLeod, and it’s easy to see why excitement is building again.

There’s still no release date, but this first look does its job.
