Highlights from the MONSTER HUNTER Digital Event

Monster Hunter recently held a digital event outlining new details for the upcoming game Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and the recently released Monster Hunter Rise. Wings of Ruin will release on Nintendo Switch and PC on July 9 with pre-orders now live. Monster Hunter Rise is now available on the Nintendo Switch. I’ve provided some highlights from the event, but you can also watch it in its entirety at the bottom.

The events kicks off with a new trailer for Wings of Ruin showing off some of the characters and monsters that players will encounter. Fans also get a better look at the story they’ll be playing through. If you played Monster Hunter Stories, you’ll also notice that Lilia and Reverto are appearing in its sequel. We then got a feel for how the game will play. Battle is once again turn-based, but now your weapon types will come into play in addition to attack types. This game looks great if you’re into JRPGs.

If you’re enjoying Monster Hunter Rise, you’ll be very excited to learn about the first update that is available now. The update is free and introduces new monsters like the Apex Diabolos and Apex Rathalos das well as the Elder Dragons Teostra, Kushala Daora, and Chameleos. All of these monsters just look absolutely incredible! Standard quests are now available for hunting the Apex monsters. Also, new weapons and armor is available. In addition, Hunter Rank caps can be unlocked. There’s a lot more, so you’ll definitely want to check out the video below.

If that’s not enough, paid DLC was revealed including character change vouchers, new voice options, new layered armor for you and your buddies, gestures, stickers, and other cosmetics. The nice thing is that none of these appear to be pay-to-win.
