Hilarious Trailer For Paul Rudd and Jack Black's Wild Adventure Comedy ANACONDA

Sony Pictures has shared the first trailer for Anaconda, and it looks nothing like what you might expect, but it look pretty damn funny! The film brings Paul Rudd and Jack Black together for a new take on the infamous giant snake thriller from 1997.

Directed by Tom Gormican, the filmmaker behind The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and co-writer of Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, this version of Anaconda isn’t a straight-up remake of the cult favorite that starred Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Owen Wilson, and Jon Voight. Instead, it flips the concept on its head.

The story follows a group of longtime friends who are all hitting that awkward midlife moment. Black plays Doug, a wedding videographer, and Rudd is Griff, a background actor. In an attempt to reclaim their youth, they decide to remake their favorite movie from back in the day.

That nostalgic trip quickly spirals out of control when they find themselves deep in the jungle facing danger that feels a little too real. The cast also features Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, Daniela Melchior, and more.

The project was first teased last year when Black and Rudd uploaded a tongue-in-cheek announcement video to YouTube, confirming a December 25, 2025 release date. Black kicked things off by shouting, “We’re making a movie! Paul Rudd and Jack Black star in the ‘Anaconda.’” Rudd followed it up with a promise that the film will deliver a rollercoaster of emotions for audiences.

“You want to get scared,” Rudd said in the clip. “You want to laugh. You want to celebrate with your friends. Maybe you’re alone, sad and don’t have nobody but just want to forget about that. It’s coming out on Christmas in 2025.”

Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing under their Fully Formed Entertainment banner, with Kevin Etten co-writing the script alongside Gormican.

With its mix of comedy, adventure, and jungle-set suspense, this reimagined Anaconda looks like it will be equal parts weird, funny, and intense.

Fans will get to see how Black and Rudd handle giant snakes and existential crises when the movie slithers into theaters this Christmas.
