Hilarious Trailer for Season 3 of HBO Comedy HACKS Which Is Finally Returning This May
HBO has released a hilarious teaser trailer for the third season of their comedy series Hacks, which is finally returning this May. The teaser sees Deborah (Jean Smart) and her brash young head comedy writer, Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder), discussing some of Deborah's "more problematic material" which is "gaining traction."
In February 2023, production on Season Three was paused after Smart, who has earned two Emmys for her portrayal of Deborah Vance, underwent a heart procedure. Then with the strikes which took place last summer, the show was pushed back even further. Now, we finally have a release date for the upcoming episodes, and a teaser to give us a taste of the comedy we can expect this season.
The season’s logline reads: "A year after parting, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) is riding high off the success of her standup special while Ava (Hannah Einbinder) pursues new opportunities back in Los Angeles."
Smart and Einbinder are joined in the new season by returning co-stars Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Kaitlin Olson, Christopher McDonald, Mark Indelicato, Rose Abdoo, and Lorenza Izzo. Megan Stalter and Paul W. Downs will also be returning, and have been promoted to series regulars. Season 3 will also feature appearances by Helen Hunt (Mad About You), Christina Hendricks (Mad Men), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Dan Bucatinsky (Scandal), George Wallace (Clean Slate), and Tony Goldwyn (Scandal).
Check out the teaser below, and watch Hacks Season 3 on HBO starting on May 2nd.
