Hilary Duff Announces the LIZZIE MCGUIRE Revival Is No Longer Moving Forward at Disney+
Hilary Duff has made the official announcement that the anticipated Lizzie McGuire Disney+ revival series is no longer moving forward. Reports earlier this year stated that the executives at Disney were not seeing eye to eye with the original series creator, Terri Minsky, resulting in her leaving the reboot.
Duff expressed her frustrations with the studio’s censorship of the show, as she believed the character should be seen in a more adult context, and the executives wanted a completely family-friendly show.
Duff talked about her hopes for the show and talked openly about a possible jump to another streamer, like the series Love, Victor, which started at Disney+ and made the move to Hulu. But sadly, it looks like the Lizzie McGuire revival is just dead in the water for now.
Maybe Minsky could come back, and they could make their vision happen at another streamer like Duff hoped for. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
