Hilary Duff Has Asked Disney to Move the LIZZIE MCGUIRE Revival From Disney+ to Hulu

Last week, we reported about the drama going down behind the scenes of the Lizzie McGuire revival over at Disney+. After the original series creator and revival showrunner Terri Minsky was fired in January after only shooting two episodes, the series has been at a bit of a standstill. While Disney+ says it is still being reworked and will move forward, Minsky and series lead Hilary Duff say they’d like to see the series proceed as written at a streamer with fewer restrictions.

After the series Love, Victor hopped from Disney+ to Hulu last week because of the “family friendly” tone that Disney+ wants to keep and the adult themes in the series, Duff tweeted that “family friendly” sounds like a familiar lament made to her show. And a jump to Hulu is looking pretty good to the star right now, so the creator of the series can return and they can create the more adult-themed show they were planning.

Here’s what Duff wrote in a statement on Instagram:

Hopefully all the decision-makers at both services can come to an agreement for the fans of this series who were looking forward to this revival. It doesn’t seem like too big of an ask, as Disney has seen the need in the Love, Victor series, as well as the High Fidelity series adaptation, which was originally set for Disney+ and has since moved to Hulu.

Are you a fan of the series? Would you like to see it move to Hulu?
