Hilary Duff Offers Update on Her LIZZIE MCGUIRE Reboot and Who May or May Not Be Returning

While things are moving either slowly or not at all in Hollywood, lots of people are at least keeping in touch with their casts and crew members to talk about scripts and schedules and what can be done from a distance while they wait for things to get back to normal. This is the case for Hilary Duff, who was deep in the midst of filming and working through the story for her reboot of Lizzie McGuire that is coming to Disney+.

While Duff and original showrunner Terri Minsky, who was removed from the project in January, have rallied for the series to get a transfer to Hulu so they can tackle some more adult themes that Disney is wanting them to shy away from, Disney is still planning on moving forward with the show at their “family friendly” streamer. We don’t know how that is going to pan out, but Duff recently chatted with Cosmopolitan about who we may see coming to the reboot. Miranda didn't star in The Lizzie McGuire movie because her character was said to be visiting family in Mexico. As for Paolo, he betrayed Lizzie when he tried to set her up in an effort to embarrass his fellow pop star, Isabella. Fans are dying to know if series originals Paolo and Isabella (Miranda) will return.

Duff said:

“I'm still talking to [the team] weekly, I don't know. They were shooting and then everything was put on hold. And we're just kind of figuring out if we can make this happen. But there were plans for a lot of people to be in the show. So, um, I already know some of those things but I don’t know about Paolo. I think she'd probably be pretty mad to see him.”

Series like this love to bring back the old characters, because it’s the die hard fans that are returning to watch, and they want to see the characters they know and love. I’m sure we will get to see most of the people originally involved, and will probably hear mention of any others.

Who are you most looking forward to seeing come back to this revival?
