Hip Hop Gamer Says PS5 will Remaster Backwards Compatibility Games Going Back to PS1

Here’s some exciting news for PlayStation fans, according to Hip Hop Gamer, the PlayStation 5 will have a remastering engine for its backwards compatibility. This backwards compatibility will reach all the way back to the original PlayStation. This will give games support for modern TV setups including 4K. HHG goes on to say that remasters will no longer be a thing, but rather remakes are what the industry is going to shift to. He points to the Xbox One X Enhanced label used by Microsoft and says that it is a small part of what PlayStation will offer in the PS5.

HHG has a pretty good track record and he’s very confident in this news. However, Sony has not made any such announcement, so I will be treating this as a rumor and am recommending you take the news with a grain of salt.
