Hit Comic TMNT: THE LAST RONIN is Becoming a Video Game

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is an incredible comic series. It was released in 2020 and tells the story of (spoiler alert) Michelangelo after his brothers and father were killed. It’s an incredible story that I highly recommend from Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Tom Waltz, and Andy Kuhn with Kuhn and Ben Bates providing the art. Fans love the comic and now it’s getting a video game adaptation. Polygon recently shared that Doug Rosen of Paramount Global, the rights holders for TMNT, has said as much.

This is very exciting, especially since this will be a TMNT game that’s not a side-scrolling beat ‘em up. Instead, Rosen shared that The Last Ronin video game would be more of a 3rd-person action RPG similar to God of War. That sounds perfect given the story. Other items we know about the game is that it is possible for other characters to be playable in flashbacks and it’s being developed by an unnamed studio with the goal of releasing in a few years as “an ambitious AAA video game.” We can expect to hear more in the coming months and years apparently. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear more about it this summer when the big gaming conferences usually take place.

Once again, if you haven’t read The Last Ronin, go grab it from your local comic shop. If you need some TMNT in your gaming until The Last Ronin, Shredder’s Revenge is fantastic and available on all major platforms including Xbox (affiliate link) with physical versions available from various retailers like GameStop (affiliate link) and Shredder is coming to Call of Duty.
