HIT-GIRL Prequel and KICK-ASS 3 Films Have Been Plotted and Discussed
Last month we learned that The Raid director Gareth Evans was interested in make a standalone Hit-Girl movie. There's no doubt in my mind that would be a badass movie. In a recent interview with JoBlo, Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn confirms that a Hit-Girl spin-off movie is still actually being discussed. He also talks about getting Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloe Moretz back for Kick-Ass 3. Moretz has said in the past that she's "done with Hit-Girl," but Vaughn seems pretty confident that he can bring her back into the fold. Here's what Vaughn had to say:
"Do you know what's going to be next if I do it... we've finished plotting it. What we have to do is, we've got to do the FIRST CLASS to the KICK-ASS world. We lost a few fans on Kick-Ass 2. It wasn't as loved as one would've hoped. So we have this idea for a Hit Girl prequel. It's a really strong, really simple prequel where I think we can regain the love and the passion. If that happens, I'm pretty sure I can persuade Aaron and Chloe to come back and finish the story of Kick-Ass with Kick-Ass 3.
"Mark and I have already plotted Hit Girl. We have to get the script done next. It's so far out there, you have no idea."
The director says that most of the story is set in the far east, and he admits that he won't helm the movie himself. He is looking to hire someone like Gareth Evans, who is "a really bold, clever director."
I would love to see a Hit-Girl prequel and a Kick-Ass 3. I hope Vaughn and his team can make it happen. This is just such a fun and entertaining franchise, and it'd be awesome if we could get two more movies out of it.
