HITMAN 3 on Switch Gets a Release Date and Will Bring New Feature to Stadia
IO Interactive is releasing Hitman 3 this week and they recently made two huge announcements. We’ve known that the game was coming to the Nintendo Switch via cloud gaming, but the release date has always been up in the air. Now we know that the Switch version will release on January 20, the same day as the other platforms.
In addition, Stadia has announced that with the release of Hitman 3, they’re launching the exciting State Share feature. This feature will allow content creators, developers, and anyone else to invite others to try a section of the game using a save state. This means that a streamer could do something in a game, challenge their viewers to do it better than them, and then have their viewers load up the exact same conditions to try it out. It’s a cool feature in theory, and we’ll see how it works in practice. The information that transfers via State Share will vary from game to game, but for Hitman 3, it will be the following:
Mission starting location within the beginning of the level
Mission objectives
Player loadout (including weapon, gear, and clothing)
Mission difficulty
Fans will also be able to use State Share with Hitman and Hitman 2 which are available to claim for free as a Stadia Pro subscriber while other games will acquire the feature later this year.
