Hollywood Insider Says VISION Series Is "Great" and Showrunner Terry Matalas May Work on Marvel Show NOVA

It’s been four years since the Marvel series WandaVision wrapped up, leaving the character of Vision and his future up in the air. We are anxious to get back to him and see what the future holds for the fan-favorite character in the upcoming series Vision Quest.

The logline for the show says the series “follows The Vision trying to regain his memory and humanity,” but other than that (and some cool casting), news on the show has been sparse.

Industry insider Jeff Sneider gave a bit of an update on the project on The Hot Mic podcast, where he revealed what he's learned about Vision, saying, "I've heard that Vision is great. And that the showrunner, Terry Matalas, I heard that he may end up working on Nova," the insider claimed. "He may end up getting an overall deal at Marvel."

Matalas has a great track record writing for TV series like Star Trek: Picard, and many others. This would be a great path for him if the Vision series is as great as the insider has heard.

Paul Bettany will reprise his role as Vision's title character, with James Spader set to return as Avengers: Age of Ultron's title villain. Todd Stashwick and Faran Tahir, who is back as Raza from Iron Man, are also set to appear (the former has been confirmed as Paladin).

The cast also features T'Nia Miller as Jocasta, with Orla Brady and Emily Hampshire enlisted as F.R.I.D.A.Y. and E.D.I.T.H., respectively. As noted, Ruaridh Mollica is expected to play a mystery character widely believed to be Tommy Maximoff, while Battlestar Galactica icon Mary McDonnell boarded the series just this week.

Vision—or Vision Quest —is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
