How is Disney+ Missing These Four Shows!?
Disney+ finally launched and if you’re able to avoid the technical problems, it’s been a pretty decent experience. There are plenty of shows, although everyone seems to be too busy watching Gargoyles to care about anything else, I’ve browsed through the library looking for some of my other favorite childhood shows and I discovered some glaring omissions. I’m sure there are other great shows missing, so let me know what you need to see in the comments. Also, it should be noted that under Help in Disney+, you can request shows and movies to be added and I would recommend using that and hopefully, they’ll listen.
The Famous Jett Jackson
This show was a lot of fun when I was a kid. It was about a teenager who was a TV star but moved back to North Carolina to live “a normal life.” We see him struggle with everyday things like drama with friends and high school, but also get a glimpse at handling fame. Plus, this show taught me how eyes work and blew my mind! It was a lot of fun when I was younger, and I was really looking forward to enjoying it all over again.
The Weekenders
I’ve written about The Weekenders before. It doesn’t have a great overarching story, in fact, it has none, but it’s still a lot of fun to hang out with Tito and the gang on the weekend. I was really wanting to watch this one with my kid and get a bit more variety of shows under her belt, but alas, this one will have to wait.
Fillmore!
I’ve also written about how brilliant Fillmore was before (same article as above). A middle school that worked more like a city so that you could have a true-crime show for middle school children. It’s a brilliant premise and amazingly executed. It’s a bit of a crime that this one isn’t available on Disney+.
Dave the Barbarian
This is the biggest crime in my opinion. Dave the Barbarian is a ridiculous show that has no right being as fun and entertaining as it is. I’ve rewatched clips on YouTube and I laugh so hard every time. Dave is a hulking coward who is in charge of defending the city of Udrogoth along with his two sisters, a stereotypical teenage princess and a person often mistaken for a chimp, and uncle, a failed wizard. There’s a lot of 4th wall breaking with the narrator and just miss it.
