I’ve got an interesting video here for you to watch today from Movie Insider that explains how Marvel Studios map out its films years before cameras start rolling. They use a tool known as Previs, which allows filmmakers to plan and choreograph their action scenes virtually long before sets are built and actors are involved with shooting the scenes. This tool gives the creative team and the crew a solid idea of what they are getting themselves into before production.

These rough shots are called previs, short for previsualization. Essentially, this tool allows filmmakers to digitally map out how they want any given scene to look. Directors can then use the previs as a guide for how to film scenes, sometimes frame for frame, once everyone’s on set. …Marvel’s extensive use of visualization has helped the franchise maintain a coherent vision all the way through “Endgame.”
