How the STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW Season Finale Ties to Palpatine
The first season of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew wrapped up with an exciting and satisfying finale. This show has been a fun ride, and the way it concluded its story was thrilling. I also like the little details of how it connected to the broader Star Wars universe.
Whether or not we get a second season, this chapter feels complete. The finale focused on Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) and the young crew’s final showdown on At Attin.
The stakes were high! With Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) and her mother Fara (Kerry Condon) held hostage, Jod lowered the planet's barrier to let pirates fly in to loot the Republic credits stored there.
Each character played an important role in stopping Jod. Neel (Robert Timothy Smith) used his knowledge of the turbolaser batteries to fight against the pirates.
KB (Kyriana Kratter) piloted the Onyx Cinder out of the barrier to send a message for help. Fern was able convince to jump in and help in the group’s efforts, and Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers) found the courage to become the hero.
Their teamwork earned them a hard-fought victory.
One of the big revelations came from Jod’s confrontation with the Supervisor, voiced by Stephen Fry. When Jod claimed to be a Jedi and flashed his lightsaber, the Supervisor revealed a interesting piece of information.
He had received a Republic transmission labeling the Jedi as traitors, which was a message that could only have come from Sheev Palpatine during his rise to power.
This hinted that At Attin was a secret known to the Republic and Palpatine. If Palpatine could get through the barrier and reach At Attin, it means this mythical planet may have been part of his grand strategy.
Perhaps he had plans for it as a tool for future schemes or a hidden reserve of resources. It makes sense that Palpatine would know about the planet as another secret resource at his disposal that he could use when he needed it.
This bit of information adds an interesting layer to Palpatine’s legacy, reminding us how deeply his influence shaped the Star Wars galaxy. This was a fun way to expanded the Star Wars mythos.
