How The Upcoming HALO Series Will Be Similar To The "Scope and Scale" of GAME OF THRONES

It looks like the new Halo series being produced by Showtime and Steven Spielberg is looking to HBO’s Game of Thrones for inspiration.

While speaking to The Game Maker’s Notebook podcast, 343 transmedia boss Kiki Wolfkill, was asked about what the Halo TV show could be compared to and that’s when he brought up Game of Thrones explaining that it will be similar in “scope and scale” as well as the “complexity of relationships”.

"It's hard to find an analog. We talk about Game of Thrones a lot in terms of scope and scale and complexity of relationships. A lot of the background of Halo is this sort of political drama. It's something that [is mentioned] really lightly in the games… Some of that [Game of Thrones] complexity is interesting."

That’s great and all, but hopefully when they bring the Halo series to a close, they actually give the fans, the story, and characters a decent ending! Sure, be inspired by the themes of Game of Thrones all you want, but also look at all the things that they did wrong with the season finale, and learn what not to do.

Kiki Wolfkill, which is a badass name by the way, also says there will be things that Halo won’t use from the HBO’s fantasy epic saying there will be “no incest” and that “If you're looking for that, you won't find it here.” But, I’m sure there will be plenty of epic battles to enjoy!

Pablo Schreiber (American Gods, Orange is the New Black) has been cast in the role of Master Chief, who is “Earth’s most advanced warrior in the 26th century and the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to the destruction of humanity.”

Multiple episodes of the series will be directed by Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) from writer Kyle Killen (Awake) who is also serving as executive producer and showrunner. Production will begin this fall in Budapest, Hungary.
