Hugh Jackman Addresses Whether DEADPOOL 3 Will Be a One and Done Appearance for Wolverine

Fans are pumped up for the return of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the upcoming movie Deadpool 3. It was revealed to fans back in September that we had to wait two years for Marvel’s Wolverine/Deadpool team-up, but the fact that it’s officially happening is incredible! Since it’s a while before we will see the movie, we don’t have a whole lot of details regarding story, but it has been confirmed by Jackman himself that this new movie “won’t screw with the Logan timeline.”

Jackman recently sat down with The Empire Film Podcast, and he was asked if he has thought about the longevity of his character within the MCU in this return, and if he will be back for movie movies after Deadpool 3. Jackman explained:

"I imagine every movie as a one and done, that's how I see it. I'll be honest I had a two picture deal at the beginning, but I still assumed it was a one and done. You know back then there were no comic book movies, so I just take it one at a time. I"m lucky that way, I don't have to think beyond that but I think it's the best way to go."

I think that means that Jackman is open to the continuation of the character. He didn’t say no, and I know he’s stoked to join the MCU and work with his best frenemy Ryan Reynolds. So we will just have to see how the story goes, and hopefully we will see them both return for more movies after this one.

Deadpool 3 is set to hit theaters on November 8th, 2024.
