Hugh Jackman and Zoe Saldana Join Laika's Next Stop-Motion Animated Film Project

Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana and Zach Galifianakis have signed on to star in Laika's next stop-motion animation feature film. This is the same animation house behind Kubo and the Two Strings, Coraline, ParaNorman, and Box Trolls.

Laika is partnering up Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures for the film which is just being called Film Five at the moment. ParaNorman director Chris Butler is helming the film. Unfortunately, we have no idea what the plot entails. What we do know is that the movie will be a globe-trotting comedy-adventure "bursting with humor, heart and a profound message of acceptance and finding one's place."

Laiki President and CEO, Travis Knight, who is currently directing Bumblebee, had this to say in a statement:

"Our next film represents an evolutionary shift for Laika. It's an exciting bridge to our future. Director Chris Butler and the wizards at Laika have crafted a moving work of art, layered with wit and imagination and soul. Plus it's really, really funny. It's a privilege to partner with Megan and her exceptional team at Annapurna to bring this beautiful original story to the world."

I'm such a huge fan of the kind of work that Laika is doing. They are creating these wonderful stories in the coolest and unique way. All of their films are like a work of art and that art comes from hand-made love. I can't wait to see what this next film turns out to be!
