Hugh Jackman is Totally Open To Making a FACE/OFF Reboot with Ryan Reynolds

Normally I hate the idea of remakes, but a remake of John Woo’s 1997 Nicolas Cage and John Travolta film Face/Off starring Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds? Yeah, I’d definitely want to watch that! That’s a reboot that I can get behind.

During an interview with Sirius XM, Jackman was asked what he would get Reynolds for his birthday and the conversation ended up turning to the idea of a Face/Off remake. Jackman said:

"The first thing that came to mind was a game we used to play as kids, did you ever play that game, we used to call it Ring and Run. Where you go knock on someone’s door and run away. What’s that called here?.... Ding Dong Ditch. So of course my older brother took it to the next level and when you came to open the door there was a package that was on fire. The package was filled with various amounts of dog poo from the neighborhood. So you would stamp it out. That’s the first thing that came to mind. Something like that, Ding Dong Ditch. Just for fun…. Funny."

A Reddit fan conversation was then brought up about what if Jackman and Reynolds did a reboot of Face/Off and how that would be potentially amazing. Jackman responded with:

"I have not heard that. Is it possible to shoot it where we are actually never together? Is that possible? I’m open to that.”

So, while he’s up for it, his one amusing condition is that he doesn’t actually have to physically work with Reynolds in the process. The relationship that these two guys have is hilarious. Would you be up for watching a Face/Off reboot with Jackman and Reynolds?

It’s funny, this is one movie that I still vividly remember watching in theaters. It was so wonderfully ridiculous that it left a lasting impression.
