Hugh Jackman joins Neill Blomkamp’s CHAPPIE

Looks like Hugh Jackman has joined the cast of Neil Blomkamp's sci-fi comedy project Chappie. The actor confirmed the news himself during a Q&A session at the Zurich Film Festival. When asked about his upcoming projects, he said,

“But I am doing a role in Neill’s new film, called Chappie, which we shoot in Johannesburg. I’m there for a couple of weeks at the beginning of next year.”
There's no word on who he will be playing in the film, but he joins Sharlto Copley (District 9, Elysium) as well as Die Antwoord rap-rave duo Ninja and Yolandi Visser

The film was inspired by Blomkamp's short film "Tetra Vaal," and it tells the story of a robot imbued with artificial intelligence who is stolen by two local gangsters who want to use him for their own nefarious purposes.

It's set to be released March 27th, 2015.
