Hugh Jackman Reportedly Plans to Play Wolverine for at Least the Next Ten Years

Fans were shocked and beyond excited when Hugh Jackman teamed up with Ryan Reynolds to reveal that Jackman would be returning to the role of Wolverine.

Everyone, including Jackman, believed his time in the role had come to an end, as Logan put a beautiful bow on the story of his Wolverine.

But the multiverse had a way of reopening that door, and allowed him to return to the gruff mutant, giving him another adventure and chance to team up with a worthy cohort.

But it did make fans wonder if this was a one shot, or the beginning of a new era for Jackman. After seeing the movie, and its incredible success, we all figured he’d be back, but a new rumor leads us to believe he may stick around for a long haul.

While Jackman returning for the upcoming event films is not a surprise, some wondered if a younger actor could be cast in the role of Wolverine as the X-Men movie shapes up. But according to scooper @MyTimeToShineH (via CBM), the Australian actor is ”not even close to being done” and intends to play Wolverine for at least another 10 years.

After his returned success, and the shape he’s in, this isn’t a huge shocker. Plus, that rumored Hulk vs. Wolverine movie doesn’t have the same appeal with someone else in the role, and Jackman has a lot of trust in the direction the MCU is headed. The insider adds that Marvel Studios also wants a Deadpool & Wolverine trilogy, also not a huge surprise.

Of course, we will just have to wait and see what happens with the character and the MCU moving forward, but I know most of us would be stoked to see Jackman continue to play Wolverine for a while.
