Hugh Jackman Will Have a Say in Who Replaces Him as Wolverine
After seeing Logan, it seems like a ridiculous thought to bring Wolverine back to the big screen with a different actor in the role. We all know that one day it will eventually happen, though. Even Hugh Jackman admitted to THR:
“The character will go on. Someone else will play it, for sure.”
It doesn't sound like it's going to happen anytime soon, though. While talking to Deadline, X-Men writer and producer Simon Kinberg said:
“We haven’t even thought of the next iteration of Wolverine. For all of us, we were keeping our fingers crossed that the audiences would respond to Logan the way they have. I can’t visualize in my head another Wolverine..."
That's pretty much how the rest of us feel at this point. However, he does go on to say that when the day comes, they will talk to Jackman about it and he will have a say in who takes on the mantle of Wolverine. Kinberg continued:
"...but — if that day ever comes — we would talk to Hugh [Jackman] about it.”
A few years ago we put together a list of actors who could replace Jackman as wolverine. You can check that out here if you want. The one actor that I think would be interesting in the role is Tom Hardy. But it's hard to think that anyone will be able to top what Jackman did with the character in Logan.
Can you think of any other actors that might be a solid replacement for Jackman as Wolverine?
