Hugo Weaving Reunites with Peter Jackson for MORTAL ENGINES
It looks like Peter Jackson is bringing back one of his favorite actors, Hugo Weaving, to be in his newest epic otherworldly film franchise Mortal Engines, which is based on a series of novels. This time set thousands of years in the future.
Weaving last worked with Jackson during the Lord of the Rings movies. He was great in them, and I feel like seeing him in a post-apocalyptic universe is also a pretty good setting for him... "Cough cough" Matrix "cough cough.
Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens are writing and producing the film that will be shooting in New Zealand because it's Peter Jackson, so of course it is.
The book is set thousands of years in the future. Earth’s cities now roam the globe on huge wheels, devouring each other in a struggle over diminishing resources. On one of these massive Traction Cities, Tom Natsworthy has an unexpected encounter with a mysterious young woman from the Outlands, who will change the course of his life forever.
I trust Peter Jackson. Even if The Hobbit wasn't everything I wanted it to be, Lord of the Rings was fantastic, and if there is one thing that man knows its epic film series. The movie is set to be released on December 14, 2018.
