HULK Actor Mark Ruffalo Teased the Possibility We May See Tony Stark Return to the MCU
Fans of the MCU have been on a wild ride since 2008 when Iron Man dropped into theaters and promised to whisk us away into a world of Avengers, superheroes, and villains, both in this world and beyond. It has delivered on that promise, but we have had some heartbreaks over the years, namely saying goodbye to the hero that started it all, Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, played by the charming Robert Downey Jr..
He sacrificed himself in Avengers: Endgame and saved the world, and has been missed ever since. But now that we have entered a multiverse… could we see Tony Stark again? His co-star Mark Ruffalo seems to think it’s a possibility.
In a recent appearance at Emerald City Comic-Con for the “Mean and Green: Mark Ruffalo Spotlight” panel (via The Direct), Ruffalo was asked how he felt after losing Iron Man and Captain America in Endgame. He responded:
“Sad, but there is a time machine. And there are alternate universes and realities, so anything could happen.”
Asked to clarify whether he was hinting that Iron Man and the original Captain America could be seen again in the MCU, the Hulk actor referred to his history of spoiling Marvel insider news, and he chose his next words carefully:
"[Laughs, looks at the ceiling] Are one of these boards going to fall on me? Man, are you trying to get me in trouble again? I'm not going to say it's not possible, but I'm not going to say it is."
Right after Endgame, fans seemed eager to close the door for good on what went down, as to not cheapen the sacrifice of Iron Man, but it has been a few years now… I miss the guy. Would you like to see him return in some capacity? Let us know below.
