Hulu Drops Its Price to $5.99 a Month

While Netflix is raising its prices, Hulu is taking a different approach and dropping its basic ad-supported price from $7.99 to $5.99 a month. The ad-free subscription price will remain at $11.99 a month.

To counter this drop in price, Hulu is raising the price for their full live TV service. The Hulu With Live TV subscription currently costs $39.99 per month, but that will be raised to $44.99 per month. These price changes will officially be implemented on February 26th.

I think this is a pretty cool move by Hulu! As a subscriber to both Hulu and Netflix, this price drop will even out with the price hike for Netflix. So, between the two of them, I’ll still just being paying the same price.

Obviously, Hulu is hoping that this price drop will help its subscriber growth in the years to come. Lowering the prices certainly won’t hurt!

If you don’t subscribe to Hulu, will this entice you to sign up and try it out?
