Hulu Drops Trailer for High-Stakes Airplane Thriller Series RED EYE with Richard Armitage
Hulu has released the official U.S. trailer for Red Eye, a tense six-episode thriller set aboard an overnight flight from London to Beijing. This isn’t a remake of Wes Craven’s 2005 film starring Cillian Murphy and Rachel McAdams, it’s its own beast, blending murder mystery with claustrophobic airborne suspense.
Red Eye follows British officer DC Hana Li (Jing Lusi) as she escorts Dr. Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage) to Beijing after he’s accused of murder. But what starts as a routine extradition spirals into an escalating conspiracy and a string of deaths mid-flight.
“A red eye flight underway from London to Beijing becomes a thrilling journey after Dr. Matthew Nolan (Armitage) is arrested and accused of murdering a woman.
“Despite protesting his innocence, London Police Officer, DC Hana Li (Lusi), is tasked with escorting Dr. Nolan back to Beijing to face charges — but after an incident occurs on-board, she finds herself embroiled in an escalating conspiracy.”
The show was created by Peter A. Dowling (Flightplan), with episodes directed by Kieron Hawkes and Camilla Strøm Henriksen and produced by Bad Wolf and Sony Pictures Television.
Joining Lusi and Armitage is an ensemble cast that includes Lesley Sharp, Jemma Moore, Dan Li, and more. This looks like a gripping, binge-worthy ride. Catch Red Eye when it premieres July 22 exclusively on Hulu.
