Hulu Releases New Trailer for the HOMEROOM Documentary Produced by Ryan Coogler
Hulu has released a trailer for their upcoming documentary series Homeroom. The documentary is directed by Pete Nicks and produced by Ryan Coogler. Throughout, viewers will get to see the experience of Oakland High School’s class of 2020 during a very crazy school year. The documentary shows some discussion of police in schools, the COVID-19 pandemic, the Black Lives Matter protests, and more.
In "Homeroom,” Oakland High School’s class of 2020 confronts an unprecedented year. Anxiety over test scores and college applications gives way to uncertainty springing from a rapidly developing pandemic. Efforts to eliminate the school district’s police force unfold against the backdrop of growing nationwide demands for systemic change.
In addition, Homeroom serves as Nicks’ final chapter in his trilogy of films that started with The Waiting Room and continued in The Force. These films are all about “examining the relationship between health care, criminal justice, and education in Oakland, CA over the past decade.” All three films will be available to stream on Hulu starting August 12.
